Lorraine Auton

I am a Norfolk artist, specialising in studies of nature and wildlife. I work mostly with acrylic. Since moving to the Norfolk Broads I have found inspiration in the unique natural environment of the area. It is my aim to try to capture the realistic form and texture of the wildlife I observe.

In contrast to modern movements in the art world, I am trying to return to the traditional values of technical craftsmanship.

I also aim to portray atmosphere and capture movement in my work.

I run classes and workshops from The Studio Above and provide private art tuition from £12 per hour.

The Wall Street Journal

Lorraine features as part of an article published in May 2021 about the beauty of the Norfolk Broads and why people, particularly artists, are drawn to the region.

To view the whole article by Ruth Bloomfield, which includes a lovely selection of photos of the area, visit www.mansionglobal.com (a sister publication that requires no subscription) and then search for the article about The Norfolk Broads.

Pet Portraits

I also do pet portraits and commissions.

Please contact the Gallery to discuss composition, timescale, size and pricing.

A very good quality photo of the pet will be required.
